Betty (Collett, Williams) Rutherford

Betty Ann (Collett, Williams) Rutherford, age 92, passed away July 27, 2021.

Betty was born April 27, 1929 in Council Bluffs, IA to John and Anna Collett. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School and received her floral education from the American Floral Arts in Illinois.

She was united in marriage to Ronald L. Williams on July 10, 1949. Following Ron's passing, she married Don Rutherford on June 27, 1996.

Betty was a lifetime member of St. John's United Church of Christ and served in many of the church's groups and choir.
She owned and operated Betty's Flowers for 30 years. She was active or on the boards of The Chamber of Commerce, Cee Bee Ambassadors, Iowa Society of Florists, NE, MO, KS, and Of Nebraska, Altrusa and a member of the red Hats and a volunteer at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John G. Collett and Anna M Messerli Collett; and her first husband, Ron Williams.
She is survived by her husband, Don Rutherford; son, Rod (Julie) of Council Bluffs, IA; daughter, Rhonda (Bill) of Treynor; son, Roger (Thuy) of Indiana; stepsons, Russell, Tony, Jeff, and Dave; stepdaughters, Connie, Cindy and Michelle; grandchildren, Christopher and Deanna Williams, Rikki and Dylan, Matthew, and Rachael Gibbons; step grandchildren, Cory, Joshua, Adam, Jamin, Jenina, Mitch, Zack, Matt, Ian, Jake, and Elly; great grandson, Aiden; great granddaughter, Lynnle Givons-Nguyen.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, July 31, 2021. Visitation will be held the hour prior to the service. The family will direct memorials.
