Bruce A. Jones

Bruce A. Jones, age 80, of Council Bluffs passed away at his home on June 3, 2017.

He was born in Council Bluffs on September 22, 1936 to the late Earl and Beulah (Martin) Jones. Bruce graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and then proudly served his country as a United States Marine. He worked most of his career for the United States Postal Service, retiring in 1992. He served as Postmaster in several communities around the area.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Kurt Jones; brother, Earl Jones; sisters, Doris Nelson, Marian Babcock and Betty Lou Jones; son-in-law, Tom Beatty.

Bruce is survived by his wife of 60 years, Shirley Jones; children, Laurie Beatty, Kevin Jones, Keith Jones; grandchildren, Justin Fisher (Traci), Rebecca Kushiner, Alexandra Miller (Michael), Victoria Jones, Thomas Jones, Michaela Jones, Trent Jones and Benjamin Jones; great grandchildren, Jenna Fisher, Samuel Fisher, Callie Fisher, Meghan Fisher, Isaiah Kushiner, David Miller and Daniel Miller.

Funeral service is 1:00p.m. on Wednesday June 7, 2017 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation will be during the hour prior to the service. Interment is in Walnut Hill Cemetery.
