Connie Lynne Shrimplin

June 27, 1951 — October 21, 2020

Connie Lynne Shrimplin (Butts) of Council Bluffs, Iowa – was called home to be with our Lord Wednesday, October 21, 2020.

Connie was born June 27, 1951 in Council Bluffs, Iowa to the late Paul Raymond (Jr) and Dorothy Mae Butts. Connie was raised, along with her 2 sisters and 3 brothers, to put family first. Connie took that value into her adult life and passed that onto her own daughters. Her sisters considered her a beloved sister and confidant, she was the rock of our family and could always bring calm back into any situation.

In August of 1981, Connie married Micheal Shrimplin, together they had a wonderful life. They lived in multiple cities in the Midwest, including Glenwood and Marshalltown, IA and Albert Lea, MN before retiring in Council Bluffs.

Connie worked for Fisher Controls (Emerson) where she retired in 2013. She enjoyed every day of her retirement, she was able to travel to MN and TX to see her daughters, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Enjoyed friday lunches with all of her siblings and the friday trip Sam’s club with her sisters.

Connie enjoyed her friends and treasured each one she acquired in her life. Connie loved riding motorcycles, annual girls weekends, and participating in many charitable events.
Connie’s love for life and her family is a testament to the bright soul she was and her infectious smile and personality was like none other.

Connie is survived by her husband, Micheal; children Melissa (Cullen) Davis, Laura Igou (Russ Randall), Micheala Shrimplin. Step children; English Camero (Mike Nass), Quinn (Aimee) Shrimplin, Delynda (Biff) Rees; foreign exchange daughter, Dulce Lopez. Siblings; Sue (Pat) Cohrs, Boyd Butts, Paula (Bob) Labs, Bill (Carla) Butts and Paul (Tina) Butts, as well as many nieces and nephews.

Connie had 16 grandchildren and 6 great-grandchildren who were the light of her life.
Connie is preceded in death by her parents, Paul (Jr) and Dorothy Butts, sister Pamela Jean Butts. Grandparents; Otto and Emily Bunk, George and Edith Thomas, Paul R and Agnes Butts.

Funeral Service is scheduled for 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 25, 2020 at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home, immediate family only. However, you are welcome to join us via the live link on Hoy-Kilnoski’s Facebook page.
