Donald K. Hansen

Donald K. Hansen, age 92, passed away February 3, 2021.

He was born August 12, 1928, to the late Fred and Hazel (Powell) Hansen. Donald proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean War and retired from Council Bluffs Water Works. He also farmed and was a member of the American Legion Lamar Hartje Post #725 in Treynor, Iowa.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Rose Hansen; son, Dennis Hansen; brothers, Bob Hansen, Fred “Bud” Hansen; sister, Dorothy Horstman.

Don is survived by his children, Ken Hansen (Nancy), Patty Raymer (Richard) and Jan England; siblings, Karen Petersen (Calvin), Donna Westpahlen (Wayne), Ed Hansen and Joan Mitchell; 14 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Friday February 5, 2021, at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 2:00 p.m. on Saturday at Creekside Church in Council Bluffs. Interment is in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery in Treynor, Iowa. The family will direct memorials.
