Donna Mae Laura Bailey

Donna Mae Laura Waldron Bailey, age 86, passed away on August 11, 2020 at Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

Donna was born in Macedonia, IA on May 3, 1934 to Virgil and Velna (Kunze) Waldron. She married Arthur Bailey Jr. on November 12, 1955. They lived most of their life in Council Bluffs, Iowa where Art built the family home. The couple had 6 children, Randy, Cindy, Art, Mark, Tandy, and Judy.

Donna spent most of her years raising her children and babysitting numerous family friends, neighbors or grandchildren. She also spent many hours around the table drinking coffee or talking on the phone with her mother, or sister-like aunts: Edna Waldron, Marie Heuwinkel, Bernie Cain, Ceno Honeyman & Arlue Guttau. You also would find Donna with her coffee and bible each morning, soaking in the treasured Word of God.

In addition to her parents, Donna Mae is preceded in death by her husband in 1975; brother, LaRoy Waldon; daughter, Judy in 1996; son, Mark in 2012; son, Randy in July 2020.

She is survived by her daughter, Cindy McIntosh of Council Bluffs; sons, Art Bailey of Council Bluffs and Tandy (Shelly) Bailey of Treynor; grandchildren, Brad Bailey of Omaha, Ashley (Connor) McQuillan of Silver City, Gage McIntosh of Council Bluffs; step-grandchildren, Christina Cronland and Nicole Cronland of Council Bluffs; as well as a host of family & friends.

Visitation will be 5:00 – 7:00 PM on Thursday, August 20, 2020 at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be 11:00 AM on Friday, August 21st, also at the funeral home. Interment will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
