Emogene Joan Kaufman

Emogene J. "Emmy" Kaufman, age 91, passed away April 9, 2021.
She was born in Council Bluffs, Iowa, on March 6, 1930 to the late Earl and Emma (Basch) Mahan. Emmy graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School and was a member of First Christian Church.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, John "Jack" Kaufman; siblings, Evelyn Kessler, Earl Jr., Edward, Erwin and Eldon Mahan.
Emmy is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, John and Jackie Kaufman; daughter and son-in-law, Susan and David Sheehy; siblings, Elwood "Woody" Mahan and Elaine Collier; grandchildren, Jonathan and Emily Sheehy, Eric and Jennifer Krienert, Keith and Jennifer Krienert, Katy and Jeff Whidden; great grandchildren, Alex, Anna and Payton Krienert, Nicolette, Taylor and Rory Krienert, Addy, Kylee and Grayson Whidden; nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends.
Visitation is at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday April 13, 2021. Funeral service is at First Christian Church - 20794 Hwy 92 in Council Bluffs at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday April 14, 2021. Interment is in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to First Christian Church.
