Gale Moores

Gale Alfred Moores, age 96, of Council Bluffs passed away December 19, 2022 at Midlands Living Center, Council Bluffs.

He was born in Woodbine, Iowa on July 12, 1926, to the late Ezra and Alma (Browning) Moores. Gale graduated from Woodbine High School in 1942 and began working in construction as a heavy equipment operator, retiring in 1987. On March 8, 1951, Gale married Yvonne Johnson and together they raised five children, Linda, Gary, Kevin, Shari, and Sandi.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Wilbur (Helen), sister Dessie, and brother Burton, granddaughter, Lisa Darling, and by his wife of 65 years, Yvonne

Gale is survived by his children and their spouses, Linda Aderhold (Dave), Gary Moores (Susan), Kevin Moores (Cheryl), Shari Flanagan (Mike), and Sandi Darling (Greg); by his twelve grandchildren and their partners, Matthew Moores (Meagan), Nicholas Moores, Eric Aderhold (Liz), Karen Crass (Kevin), Natalie Shafer (Dwight), Brian Darling (Allysa), Michelle Aderhold, Andrew Moores (Sarah), Denise Woodin (Jon), Shelby Flanagan (Tyson), John Flanagan (Bella), and Rachel Darling (Trayton); by his eleven great grandchildren Kyle Aderhold, Cory Aderhold, Owen Crass, Vivienne Shafer, Lane Shafer, Tyler Moores, Kaelin Moores, Valerie Moores, Braxton Woodin, Maddox Woodin, and Roy Darling,; by his sister-in-law Hattie Moores, numerous cousins, nieces, and nephews. Gale is survived by a lifetime of coworkers and members of IUOE Local 571, neighbors, and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, December 30, 2022. Interment is in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
