Kara Elizabeth Nickels

Kara Elizabeth Nickels, age 42, passed away September 12, 2017.

She was born in Council Bluffs on January 21, 1975. Kara graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School with the class of 1993. She attended college at Bellevue University and was currently a supervisor with the Iowa Department of Human Services.

Kara is survived by her daughters, Madison Nickels and Shae Nickels; the girls father, Michael Nickels; mother, Barbara Ellis; father, Alan Ellis (Tedette); grandmother, Arlene Betts; siblings, Kevin Ellis, Brandi Luther (Joe), Ashley Ellis, Lynsi Ellis, Shawn Ellis, Katelyn Ellis, Shalynn Ellis; step-siblings, Erin McQuinn (Chris) and Josh Horner (Catie); niece, Alexis Ellis; nephew, Brendan Ellis; special extended family, Lori Ellis; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home.
The family will direct memorials.
