Leslie "Gene" Hatfield

Leslie "Gene" Hatfield Age 91 of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away March 13, 2023. He was born in Des Moines, Iowa on July 23, 1931. Leslie married Joan Highberger on October 14, 1951 in Des Moines, Iowa. He was a veteran of the US Air Force. After his career in the Air Force Gene worked for Allied Oil and Supply as Truck Tire Manager until his retirement in 1993. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and taking pride in his vehicles.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Reta Snedigar VanNess.

Gene is survived by his wife Joan; sons, Dan (Linda), Thomas (Samira) and Russ (Val Kitzmiller); daughter, Carol (Kim) Elder; 6 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren.

Visitation: 1:00 to 3:00 PM Friday, March 17, 2023 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room, 1221 N. 16th St., Council Bluffs.
