Lester Djureen

Lester Djureen Jr., age 84, of Council Bluffs passed away February 1, 2016 at the Hospice with Heart Hospice House in Glenwood, Iowa. He was born in Omaha, Nebraska on August 1, 1931 to the late Lester and Dorothy (Brown) Djureen Sr. Lester retired after a career as a steam fitter. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Djureen; sister, Dorothy Carlenteen and his beloved wife, Betty Djureen who just passed away in November of 2015. Lester is survived by his daughter, Sheryl Djureen (John Citro); grandson Jaysen Vaughn; sister, Beverly; sister-in-law, Maxine Djureen. Visitation will begin at 6:00 p.m. on Monday February 8, 2016 with a memorial service to start at 7:00 p.m. at Saint John Lutheran Church 633 Willow Avenue in Council Bluffs. Inurnment will be at a later date in the Glenwood, Iowa Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
