Luetta Sophia Vorthmann

LuEtta S. Vorthmann, age 91, of Treynor, Iowa passed away June 17, 2016 at Bethany Lutheran Home. She was born in rural Mills County near Mineola on March 10, 1925 to the late William and Ella (Schroeder) Hartman. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran in Mineola. LuEtta met the love of her life, Richard Vorthmann and they were married February 23, 1944. She was a member of St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her brother, Clarence Hartman and 2 infant grandchildren. LuEtta is survived by her husband of 72 years, Richard Vorthmann; sons and daughters-in-law, Bill and Ann Vorthmann, Roger and Ann Vorthmann; daughter and son-in-law, Lynette and Douglas Steele; grandchildren, Rachel Dyke, Sarah Vandevanter (Adam), Chad Vorthmann (Garin), Deb Vorthmann, Erica Shipman (Josh), Erin Steele, Tyler Steele; great grandchildren, Kaylee, Avery, Brayden, Mason, Ava, Emlyn, Dru, James and Eli; a host of other family and friends. Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:00a.m. on Wednesday at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Treynor. Interment is in the St. Paul Lutheran Church Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorials are suggested to Treynor Fire and Rescue or St. Paul Lutheran Church Parsonage Fund.
