Obituary for Marvin M. Johnson

Marvin M. Johnson, age 90, of Council Bluffs passed away July 28, 2017.

He was born September 10, 1926 on the family farm to the late William W. and Sophia (Jensen) Johnson. Marvin was raised on the farm and became a truck driver for Consolidated Freightways. During his driving career he logged over 2.5 million miles of safe driving. He was an avid collector of vintage cars.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sisters, Vera Johnson, Alta Guill, Florence Severance and LaVerne Morrow; brothers, Howard and Roy Johnson.

Marvin is survived by his wife of 67 years, Anna Johnson; son and daughter-in-law, Merrill and Lynne Johnson; grandchildren, Julianne Johnson and Marc Johnson; nieces and nephews, Craig Severance (Avis), Kim Engelstad (John), Margie Custis (John), Gregory Morrow (Lorraine), Jim Morrow, Blain Morrow (Linda); a host of other extended family and friends.

Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Wednesday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. A luncheon will follow in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. Interment is later that afternoon in the Grange Cemetery. Memorials are suggested to Hazel Dell United Methodist Church or a charity of your choice.
