Nathan Blodgett

August 14, 1985 — December 29, 2022

Nathan Blodgett, 37, passed away peacefully at the home of his parents on Thursday, December 29, 2022 after a 3 year battle with a complex auto immune disorder.

He was born in Dubuque , Iowa to Rev. Rick and Deb Blodgett on August 14, 1985. He moved with his family to Council Bluffs at the age of 2, attended council bluffs community schools, and graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School. Nathan went on to secondary education at Iowa Western Community College and Bellevue University, graduating with dual degrees in graphic design and Business management. He also studied auto mechanics fueling his love for rebuilding cars, a hobby he shared with his dad.

On completion of his college education, Nathan worked as an assistant manager for Enterprise and a financial advisor for Bank of America, and most recently he was a substitute teacher for the Lewis Central School District. His long awaited dream became a reality in 2010 when he became the owner and operator of his own business, the highly respected professional wrestling company, Magnum Pro Wrestling. Nathan’s love for professional wrestling began at the age of 3 when he and his brother, Jason became ultimate professional wrestling fans attending several live events during their childhood. At the age of 13, Nate started his own back yard wrestling club with a few of his school friends using the roof of our shed and a few old mattresses to entertain neighbors for hours. This childhood dream ultimately became his passion and his dream became a reality in 2010 when he launched his own professional wrestling company. Nate wrestled under the professional name of Jaysin Strife, the Bullet Proof Tiger, and the masked canine, Yellow Dog. His wrestling career took him to Europe, Germany, England and all over the United States. He had television appearances on WWE in 2019, AEW in November of 2021 and his proudest moment in the ring was in January 2021 when he wrestled Nick Aldis for the NWA championship. In June, 2022, Nathan was inducted into the Nebraska Professional Wrestling Hall of Fame. He is most widely known throughout the Midwest for his high quality, family style shows that entertained hundreds of wrestling fans each month in the metro area. As Nathan honed his own wrestling skills, young men who shared the same passion and dream as Nate began to ask him to mentor them. It was then Nathan realized he had more to offer. He opened his professional wrestling school, training many of the young men and women in the world of professional wrestling today ,giving them a platform through his own company to realize and fulfill their dream by promoting them locally and all across the state. Nathan trained hard and he expected nothing less than excellence from his student mentees. Among his peers and colleagues he is remembered most for his contagious smile, his sense of humor, his standard of excellence for the profession, the integrity with which he ran his company and the way he valued people. He was loved and respected by his Magnum brotherhood and professional wrestlers around the world.

He will long be remembered for his philanthropical spirit. His second passion in life was rescue and adoption of animals which led him to fundraise for local humane societies. Other charitable efforts he raised funds for was the firemen’s annual MDA benefit, the metro suicide and mental health awareness, organizations for folks with physical and mental disabilities, and the Lewis Central School’s Rebel Program. Nate’s heart was to always give back hoping to make the world a better place.

Nathan’s final gift to the world was the donation of his body for medical research. From the moment of his terminal diagnosis he made the decision that he would do what was necessary to advance and enhance research for people with auto immune disease. His last gift to medical research will benefit others for years and years to come all across the country.

Nathan is survived by his parents, Rev. Rick and Deb Blodgett; brother, Jason (Nicki) Blodgett; nieces and nephews, Makayla Jensen, Ceela, Zane, Lexi and Ryder Blodgett; his maternal grandfather, William Greer; a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, his beloved canine buddy, Westin and his Magnum Wrestling band of brothers.
