Paul Hathaway Iii

October 4, 1949 — May 11, 2021

Paul Hathaway, age 71, passed away May 11, 2021. He was born October 4, 1949 to Paul and Esther Hathaway Jr in Council Bluffs, IA.
Paul was a lifetime resident of Council Bluffs and a graduate of Abraham Lincoln High School in 1967. He served our country in the US Navy during the Vietnam war from 1968-1972. He began his career working on trucks at Mack and Paul Lucht and continued to work on vehicles as a hobby in his own garage. Even though his garage could also be called the home of the never ending project, he was most proud of his 1948 Dodge Flatbed. He began his engineering career at Jenny Edmundson Hospital as a first grade engineer before eventually becoming the Chief Engineer at UNMC before retiring in 2009.

Paul married the love of his life on December 6, 1991 and they raised 4 children together. Paul was proud of his children and grandchildren and loved to give them rides on his riding lawn mower. He could often be found enjoying a cold beer on the porch. Paul was proud of his service to our country and loved to tell stories of his time overseas.

Survived by wife, LaNeita Hathaway, children Michelle Bigley, Jason Hathaway, Valerie (Brad) Koehler, Karen Cutshall and Katie (Bruce) Cash. 9 grandchildren; Sister Donna (Ray) Brannen and brother Jeff Hathaway. Multiple aunts, uncles, nieces , nephews & cousins.
