Richard "Dick" Bates

Richard “Dick” Bates, age 86, passed away at his home on November 13, 2016. He was born September 9, 1930 in Griswold, Iowa to the late Bert and Nelly (Peck) Bates.

In addition to his parents, Dick was preceded in death by his wife, Ruby in 2015; brothers, Robert, Floyd, James and Donald; and sisters, Evelyn, Annabelle and Juanita.

He is survived by his son, Al; grandsons, Adrian and Alan; great granddaughters, Abby and Alicia; brothers, Duane and Norman; sisters, Bonnie and Shirley; nieces, nephews and many friends.

Visitation is at 1 p.m., Sunday, with a Celebration of Life Service to begin at 2 p.m. all at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Private inurnment in Oaklawn Cemetery in Oakland, Iowa at a later date.
Memorials may be directed to the family.
