Richard Duane Price

November 16, 1944 — June 16, 2022

Richard Duane Price, age 77, died June 16, 2022, while on vacation with his wife in Branson, MO. His wife and kids were by his side as he passed into God's hands.

Richard was a Vietnam Veteran, serving in the U.S. Air Force (1963-1968) immediately after graduating from Bedford High School. After leaving the service, he met his lifetime love, Sharon Schade, while attending Iowa Western Community College. As a younger man, he farmed, then he worked in retail as the manager of several Wheelers farm stores, and finished his career working for the U.S. Post Office as a supervisor in Omaha. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, camping, golfing, watching wildlife, doing Suduko puzzles, drinking coffee with the guys, and sitting at the kitchen table visiting with family and friends. He also enjoyed ice cream!

Richard was known for his upbeat positive personality, his desire to work hard and do a good job on anything he did, his playful pranks and jokes, his patriotism, and his love of family and friends.

Richard grew up and lived in southwest Iowa. He is survived by his wife, Sharon (Schade) Price; their daughter, Reo (Price) Menning and son, Richard "Dick" Price II; daughter-in-law, Donna (Gardner) Price; and his granddaughters, Ainsley, Felicity and Meredith Menning and grandsons, Cole Rodenburg and Brockus Price. He is also survived by three brothers and three sisters, and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. He is preceded in death by his twin sister, Betty (Price) Swigart, and his parents.
