Obituary for Richard Kruse

Richard Kruse was born August 21, 1936, on a farm in Montgomery County, Iowa. He proudly served his country in the U.S. Army from November 1, 1954 to October 19, 1957.

He married his wife, Margaret Kruse, on September 18, 1960, in Council Bluffs. He worked for Dannen Feeds in Omaha, Neb., then construction and civil service at Offutt Air Force Base for yard maintenance. Richard loved hunting ducks, geese and deer for many years. He also did some fishing. He was a member of Gold Wing Touring Association, started Chapter L. “Loess Hills Riders” and help start CMA Harvest Riders.

He was a life member of the VFW Post 737 and a new member of the American Legion.

Richard is preceded in death by his parents; sister, Dorothy VanDorn; infant brother, Robert; and three brothers-in-law.

Richard is survived by his wife of 57 years, Margaret Kruse; son, Rick Kruse; 2 grandchildren, Andrew Kruse and Amanda Kruse; 7 great grandchildren, Serenity, Bryton, McKenzie, Scarlett, David, Madalyn, and Gwen; sister, Flora Ackerman; cousins; nephews and nieces.

Visitation is 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Wednesday, at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 1:00 p.m., on Thursday, at the funeral home. Entombment is in the Ridgewood Mausoleum. Memorials may be directed to the family.
