Richard Lee Christensen

Richard Christensen, age 83, passed away December 10, 2021. He was born October 22, 1938 to Julius and Florance Christensen in Gray, IA. Dick had one sister and six brothers. In 1961, he enlisted into the army and later worked as a mechanic in Omaha, NE.

In 1967, he married Beverly Hillman and they later had a daughter, Sheila. Dick loved cars and had cars that he showed for many years. Dick and Beverly had eventually moved to Council Bluffs and lived on an acreage for 44 years. Dick enjoyed mowing his 5 acres. He often said that it was therapy for him. He and Bev had great neighbors that helped them out so much. They were a blessing. Sheila and Mike, along with Dick's grandson Nathan moved from Kansas to Omaha so that they could also help them out.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Irene, brothers Everett, Russell, Julius, Jr., Rollie, and Bobby.

Richard is survived by his wife, Beverly Christensen; daughter, Sheila (Mike) Howard; grandson, Nathan Howard; brother, Hookie, "Vernon"; brother-in-law, Randy Hillman and friend Pat Allmon; brother-in-law, Keith (Linda) Adams; sister-in-law, Linda Christensen of Calif, and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 28th, 2021 at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home, Special Military Honors Ceremony will begin at 4:30pm with a vitiation to follow until 6:30 pm. A private family burial will be held later at Calhoun Cemetery.
