Russell T. Core

Russell T. Core, age 49, of Council Bluffs passed away June 9, 2014 at his home. He was born in Council Bluffs on October 25, 1964 to the late Jackie & Marlene (Schmidt) Core. Russ graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School with the class of 1983. He worked at Pepsi for over 30 years. Russ loved the outdoors and his family. Together, they spent a lot of time camping, fishing and hunting. Russ is survived by his wife of 20 years, Penny Core; children, Cara Bell and her husband, Lewis, Christopher Jake Ott, Cheyenne Core; brother and sister-in-law, Rick & Nancy Core; sister & brother-in-law, Jodie & Mark McConnaughey; nieces and nephews, Joel McConnaughey, Ella Wilson, Katrina Konopik, Madelynn, Matthew, Jessica, Steven Brickey; a host of other family and friends Visitation will start at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday with a Celebration of his life to begin at 3:00 p.m. A reception will follow in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
