Sandra Jo Bourg

Sandra (“Sandy”) Jo Bourg, age 61, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on Thursday, March 4, 2021 at CHI Health Creighton University Medical Center - Bergan Mercy.

Sandy was born in Kearney, Nebraska to Arthur and Mavis (Spellmeyer) Tvrdy on October 15, 1959. She graduated from Millard High School in Ralston, Nebraska in 1977. She married Edward Bourg on May 28, 1978 in Ralston, Nebraska. After 20 years of marriage, Ed and Sandy were blessed with two miracle children – Edward Junior (EJ) and Lysandra (Lysa). She worked as a computer programmer analyst for various companies for 30+ years. She moved onto having her own embroidery company which was called Stitches and Stones.

Sandy enjoyed spending time with her husband by going on cruises and exploring different islands together in the Southern Pacific region. Every winter, they went down south to spend time with her parents and enjoyed spending her weekends camping and boating on the river. She loved being around family no matter where that would be. She spent a lot of time with her nieces and nephews, until she had her miracle babies. Her kids where her pride and joy. A quote from her “ The most magical days of my life was the days I became a mother”. Sandy did everything with her kids, anywhere from watching them play football, baseball, and softball to being the best mother, best friend, and number one fan in their lives. She enjoyed riding horses and going to shows with her daughter. She played a very big role in the starting of her son’s business. She was always there to encourage, support, and participate with her family.

Sandy is preceded in death by Arthur Tvrdy (father), Louis Bourg (father-in-law), and Alfrita Marie Bourg (mother-in-law).

Sandy is survived by Edward Bourg (husband), EJ Bourg (son), Lysa and Jeff Briere (daughter and son-in-law), Mavis Tvrdy (mother), Randy Tvrdy (brother), and Karen Capps-Davis (sister).

The visitation will be held at Hoy-Kilnoski on Tuesday, March 9, 2021 at 5:00-7:00 p.m. The memorial service will be held at Hoy-Kilnoski on Wednesday, March 10, 2021 1:00 p.m. All memorials can be sent to Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory in Council Bluffs, Iowa.
