Sandra Kay Hollinger

Sandra K. Hollinger, age 78, of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away at her home on March 8, 2022 surrounded by the love of her children.

She was born in Council Bluffs on December 21, 1943 to the late George A. and Irene M. (Foster) Hollins.

Sandra lived most of her life in Council Bluffs, with the exception of a short period of time during her childhood when she and her family lived on a farm in Vermillion, Kansas.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, David Robert Hollinger and sister Alice Booton.

Sandra is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Kimberly & Dean Stamp; son and daughter-in-law David “Todd” & Jenny Hollinger; brothers George “Virgil” Hollins (Jean) and Larry “Butch” Hollins; grand children, Devyn Hollinger, Kali Stamp, and Kaleb Stamp; nieces and nephews.

Sandra was a homemaker for the most part. Later in life she enjoyed babysitting her grandkids, who loved the games and stories she would create.

She was a member of the Red Hats, enjoyed tending to her flowers in her yard, feeding local wildlife, shopping for bargains, and having step count competitions with son, grandson, and son-in-law.

She enjoyed reading her Bible, knew many verses, and loved the Lord.

Sandra was active at both Southside Christian Church and Eastside Christian Church throughout her entire life.

The family would like to thank Pastor Lonnie Parton of Victory Fellowship Church for his many visits and phone calls that provided much comfort to Sandra and her family during this difficult time.

The family would also like to thank Shannon RN, Shelly CNA, and Meghan RN from Saint Croix Hospice for their excellent care and support.

Sandra requested a small graveside service with immediate family only. She also requested donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Hospital.
