Willard L. Franks

Willard L. Franks, age 83 of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away October 24, 2013. He was born in Council Bluffs on May 21, 1930 to the late Edward & Winifred (McKeown) Franks. Willard served his country in the United Sates Navy during the Korean War. He retired from the Concord Naval Weapons Station in Concord, California. He was a longtime member of the Veterans of Foreign War Post #737 and was the Post Commander from 1986-1988. Willard was also a member of the American Legion Rainbow Post #2. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Richard Franks and twin brother, Leo Franks. Willard is survived by his wife, Ellen Franks; daughters and sons-in-law, Sue & Larry Munn and Linda & Harry Northey; son and daughter-in-law, Jim & Lori Franks; 2 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Visitation is Sunday 6-8PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday 2PM at the funeral home. Interment is in the Ridgewood Cemetery with Military Honors. The family will direct memorials.
