William Dean Jefferson

April 14, 1932 — July 25, 2020

William (Bill) D Jefferson, age 88, passed away Saturday, July 25, 2020.

He was born April 14, 1932 in Omaha, Nebraska to the late Paul E. and Mildred (Linden) Jefferson, he was the oldest of three children.

He married Sally (Kinsel) on September 9, 1952 and the couple enjoyed 43 years of marriage to which two sons were born, Terry and Mark. Bill served in the Air Force for 4 years, then began his career with Sears for 35 years, retiring in 1992. Bill and Sally loved family outings at the cabin on the Elkhorn River where many 4th of July celebrations were held with family and friends joining in the fun! They loved camping at Viking Lake, and being outdoors, Dad would fish while Mom enjoyed sewing and reading books. Over his lifetime, he enjoyed many interests: fishing, camping, hunting, wood carving and flying model airplanes with Bud and the boys. Throughout the 28 years of his retirement, people would recognize him and refer to him as “The Sears Guy”.

We will miss our Friday night dinners with him at local pubs, where everyone knew him as “DAD”, along with the Sunday dinners we enjoyed with him at our house.
Bill knew many people through work, hobbies, friends and family, no matter where he went there was always somebody he knew. He will be missed.

He is preceded in death by wife, Sally; son, Terry; special friend, Goldie Jorgensen.
Survived by son, Mark (Teresa); brother, Parnell; sister, Paula (John) Hansen; granddaughter, Heather (Zack) Mann; great grandchildren, Ashley, Felicia, and Mike; great great grandchildren, Melody and Makoda.
