William Martin Emshoff

October 25, 1930 — May 27, 2020

William Martin Emshoff was born October 25, 1930 in rural Avoca, Nebraska to the late William H and Rubie (Kress)Emshoff. The family moved from the farm to Nebraska City in 1945 where Bill met and married his wife, Carley (Webb) in 1955, recently celebrating their 65th anniversary.

They lived in Lincoln for a number of years, then Minnesota and Washington State before moving to Council Bluffs in 1970.

Bill did various things to support his family through the years, including being a salesman and truck driver. His true vocation was a minister of Jehovah’s Witnesses where he loved to talk to people about the things he learned from the Bible. As an elder in the Broadway Park congregation, he gave many public discourses, performed marriages and funeral services. He served as a full-time minister (pioneer) for over 12 years.

As a young man, he learned of Jehovah God’s love for us. To his dying fay, he expressed his love for Jehovah and his son, Jesus Christ. He looked forward to being resurrected to live forever here on each in paradise.

He died peacefully at his home on May 27, 2020.

He is survived by his wife, Carley; son, Curtis (Kristi) Emshoff of Arlington, Texas and Kimberly Emshoff of Council Bluffs; grandchildren, Derek (Rachel) Emshoff of Platte City, Missouri and Mikaella (Ryan) Rathbun of Bozeman, Montana; great-grandchildren, Andrew, Noah and Addison; sisters, Mary Ann (Rex) Miller of Akron, Ohio and Betty (John) James of Omaha, Nebraska.
