Yvonne M. Moores

Yvonne M. Moores, age 89, of Council Bluffs passed away October 12, 2016 at the Josie Harper Hospice House.

She was born in Woodbine, Iowa on April 15, 1927 to the late Raymond and Lucille (Shirk) Johnson. Yvonne graduated from Woodbine High School with the class of 1944. She then attended and graduated from Iowa State University and worked in healthcare as a dietician. Yvonne retired in 1987 from the Veteran’s Hospital in Omaha.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Lisa Darling.

Yvonne is survived by her husband of 65 years, Gale Moores; children, Linda Aderhold (Dave), Gary Moores (Susan), Kevin Moores (Cheryl), Shari Flanagan (Mike), Sandi Darling (Greg); 13 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.

Memorial service is 11:00 a.m. on Monday at Epworth United Methodist Church in Council Bluffs. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to Epworth United Methodist Church or Wings of Hope.
