Barbara Ann Kilpatrick

June 13, 1925 — June 15, 2022

Barbara Ann was born June 13, 1925, to Harry A. and Amanda R. (Duysen) Schroeder at her parent's family farm southeast of Tabor. She was baptized and later, a confirmed member of the Tabor Congregational Church.

Barb attended elementary school in Tabor, graduating from Tabor High School in 1942. In 1944, she graduated from Colorado Women's College in Denver, followed by one year at Northwestern University in Evanston, Illinois.

Barbara Ann and Paul Hendricks Kilpatrick were married on November 25, 1945. They moved into their new home on Park Street in November, 1947. Paul began his farming, cattle buying and feeding career while Barb became a farm wife and homemaker. Their marriage was blessed with three children: Harry Paul ('Butch'), Mark Alan, and Paula Kae. The family were active members of the Tabor Congregational Church where Barb and Paul served on various boards.

Barb was involved in several organizations. She was a member of P.E.O., Chapter GG, a lifetime member of the American Legion Auxiliary, and served on the Fremont-Mills School Board. She worked for the Tabor-Beacon Newspaper, writing a weekly column called 'Barbara's Byline', and worked at the family business, Tabor Feed and Grain.

Barb enjoyed attending Omaha Women's Town Hall Lecture Series and keeping up with current events. She loved golf and acquired Master Points in Bridge. She relished her time spent with her children and grandchildren.

Barbara was preceded in death by her parents, her husband of 51 years, brother Richard 'Bud' Schroeder, and son Harry Paul ('Butch').

Survivors include son Mark (Lynn) Kilpatrick, of Randolph, Iowa; daughter Paula Kae (Chris) Eaton of Nashua, New Hampshire. Seven grandchildren: Caylen (David) Sunderman of KC, KS., Christian Cole (Becky) Kilpatrick and Courtney (Chris) Wood of Tabor, Kelli (Steven) Bane of Huntsville, AL.; Matthew Paul (Toni) Eaton, Mark Harrison Eaton, Alex Christopher (Christina) Eaton all of Boston, MA. Fifteen great grandchildren: Nora Grace and Anna Dempsey Sunderman, Eli Mark Hendricks, Isaac Guy Wentzel and Ruth Maryann Kilpatrick; Alan Patrick, Emily and Max Alexander Bane; Vivian Lynn, Penelope Mae, Hayes Christopher, Amelia James and Wells Theodore Wood; London Victoria and Austin Daniel Eaton as well as several beloved nieces and nephews.

The family requests in leu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Tabor Congregational Church or Tabor Rescue.

A Celebration of Life will be held at later date.
