Barbara Ann Shoemake

Barbara Ann (McCallan-Potter) Shoemake, age 56 of Council Bluffs passed away October 8, 2012. She was born in Council Bluffs on July 20, 1956 to Raymond & Mary (Gravitt) McCallan. Barbara graduated from Lewis Central High School 1974. Her first job was with the Pottawattamie County Treasurer?s Office in the Auto License department. Barbara then worked for Smith Peterson Beckman Law Firm. She then took a position with Mutual of Omaha which later transitioned into Fidelity. Barbara is preceded in death by her father, Raymond and first husband, Norman Potter. Barbara is survived by her husband, Michael Shoemake; sons, Tim Potter and Tom Potter; mother, Mary McCallan; brother and sister-in-law, Perry and Karen McCallan; sister, Patti Goodwin; 2 granddaughters; cousin-like sister, Alta Brockman; mother-in-law, Mary Way (Don); sister-in-law, Julie Shoemake; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Memorial service is Friday 3PM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. The family will receive friends during the hour prior to the service. The family will direct memorials.
