Charles R. Shearer

Charles R. Shearer, age 81 of Council Bluffs passed away December 21, 2011. He was born September 3, 1930 in Ida Grove, Iowa to the late Harold and Miriam (Chandler) Shearer. Charles owned and operated Council Bluffs Well Drilling for many years, retiring in 2000. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara who passed away in October of this year; brother, Bill Shearer; sister, Vivian Hilker. Charles is survived by his sons, Mike Shearer and Mark Shearer & wife, Cindy; daughter & son-in-law, Lori & Dick Yocum ; 4 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren; a host of other family and friends. Funeral service is Friday 11:00AM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home and Crematory. The family will receive friends for visitation during the hour prior to the service. Interment is in Memorial Park Cemetery followed by a reception in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. The family will direct memorials.
