Dan D. Danielsen

Dan Danielsen, age 70, passed away March 16, 2023. He was born November 22, 1952 to Lloyd and Norma (Tidwell) Danielsen in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Dan grew up on a farm in Honey Creek, he graduated from Missouri Valley High School with the class of 1972. He proudly served in the US Marines for four years, stationed at Quantico. During his time of service, he was honored to help protect three US Presidents (Nixon, Ford & Carter). He retired as a roofer/contractor working in the Council Bluffs area. He attended Crossroads Church in Council Bluffs, IA. He enjoyed Gospel Music, karaoke, and fishing.

He was preceded in death by father, Lloyd Danielsen.

Dan is survived by his domestic partner, Jan Kerkhove; mother, Norma Danielsen; siblings, Roxanne (Ted) Pruitt, Janet (Tom) McIntosh, Loretta (Virgil) Schroder, Richard (Fritrena) Danielsen; sons, Danny (Jennifer) Danielsen Jr., Matthew Danielsen, Chris Danielsen, Jeremiah Danielsen; 4 step-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and a host of other family and friends.

Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Sunday, March 19, 2023. Visitation will be held at the funeral home an hour prior to the service. In lieu of flowers, family will direct memorials in Dan's honor to foundations honoring veterans.
