Dixie Lee Creps, age 79, passed away April 3, 2017 at Midlands Living Center in Council Bluffs. She was born on July 21, 1937 in Jefferson County, Missouri to the late Fred and Dolin (Wise) Murphy.

Dixie worked for Bemis Bag Company in Omaha for over 43 years. She provided a home for many of her children and grandchildren to gather and she was considered the backbone of her family.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brother, Clifton Murphy; sister, Laneve Harman; granddaughter, Amber Mellor.

She is survived by her children, Malinda Mellor, Brenda Bates, and Tim (Judy) Creps; 10 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; brother, James Clayton (Carol) Murphy; sister, Helen (Chuck) Willard; nieces, nephews, family and friends.

Funeral service will be Friday, 1 p.m., at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home with visitation the hour prior. Burial will be in Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Family will direct memorials.
