Donald L. Friday

Donald L. Friday, age 76, of Council Bluffs passed away June 16, 2017.

He was born in Grant City, Missouri on September 8, 1940 to the late Don O. and Georgia J. (Mitchell) Friday. Donald worked as a teacher and administrator in the Council Bluffs School System and then retired from the Lewis Central School system as the principal of the middle school. He was a member of Salem United Methodist Church and loved to golf. Donald was heavily involved with Iowa West Foundation and the distribution of Educational Grants.

In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sister, Estelle Lea Atkins.

Donald is survived by his wife, Sally Friday to whom he married in St. Joseph, Missouri on June 12, 1965; son and daughter-in-law, David and Wendy Friday; daughter, Stephanie Friday; brother and sister-in-law, James and Lois Friday; brother-in-law, Bob Fiske; granddaughters, Natalie and Emma Friday; step-grandson, Nathan Neighbors.

Visitation is 5:00p.m. to 7:00p.m. on Tuesday June 20, 2017 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorial service is 2:00p.m. on Wednesday at the funeral home. The family will direct memorials in his honor.
