Dorothy L. Ferris

Dorothy L. Ferris, 93 years, passed away August 22, 2017. She was born June 30, 1924 in Council Bluffs and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1942. She worked at Kimball Petersen Law Firm in Council Bluffs and Service Life Insurance Company of Omaha. In 1945, Dorothy married the love of her life, Harvey Ferris. After his return from the war, they farmed for many years in rural Boomer Township. Dorothy was a homemaker, wife and mother.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Frederick and Goldie (Bell) Feekin, her husband, Harvey, three brothers and four sisters.

She is survived by her two sons, Harvey (Judy) and Brad (Harriet) Ferris; daughter, Connie (Matt) Solon; five grandchildren and eleven great grandchildren; sisters, Louise Parks and Norma Van Beck; brother, Bill Feekin and many other family and friends.

Visitation with family will be Saturday, 9 to 10AM with the funeral service starting 10AM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. The interment will be in the Grange Cemetery. Memorials may be made to a charity of your choice.
