Elizabeth "Bette" Louise Ebsen

April 7, 1924 — February 28, 2017

Elizabeth “Bette” Louise Ebsen, 92, formerly of Sioux City, IA passed peacefully into Eternal Life with her Lord and Savior, Jesus, on February 28, 2017.

Bette was born April 7, 1924 in Sioux City to William and Clara (Mattson) Fachman. Bette attended and graduated from Cathedral High of Sioux City in 1941.

Bette received her nursing degree from St. Joseph’s School of Nursing in Sioux City in 1945 worked at St Joseph’s Hospital before marrying Kenneth Lee Ebsen, of Beresford SD, on August 30, 1947 in Sioux City, IA.

Bette and Ken moved to Fort Dodge, IA for a brief period before moving to the Beresford/Alcester SD area where Ken farmed and Bette worked at the hospital in Hawarden. They had four children.

In 1969 they moved to Sioux City where Bette worked at Bishop's Buffet and the Sioux City Auditorium. Bette was long-time Mary Kay representative while Ken worked the farm on the weekends and at Toy National Bank.

They spent numerous winters in Mesa Arizona making new friends.

Bette was preceded in death by her parents and by her husband, Kenneth.

Bette is survived by her children: Anna Roisen (Paul), Dan Ebsen (Lynn), Jerry Ebsen (Debra), and Jeff Ebsen (Amy); many grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, as well as, many long-time friends.
