Fred Albert Kemp

Fred A. Kemp, age 95, of Council Bluffs passed away September 14, 2014 at Midlands Living Center. He was born in Grand Island, Nebraska on February 1, 1919 to the late Frank & Hazel (Hutchins) Kemp. Fred proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II and made a career as a sheet metal worker. He was a member of Fifth Avenue United Methodist Church and the American Legion Rainbow Post #2. Fred was a longtime volunteer at Jennie Edmundson Hospital. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brothers, Howard and Clarence; sisters, Mary, Geraldine and Maxine; daughter, Peggy Rodriguez. Fred is survived by his wife of 72 years, Irene Kemp; daughter, Linda Kemp; son and daughter-in-law, Edwin & Linda Kemp; son-in-law, Juan Rodriguez; 9 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Visitation will begin at 10AM on Wednesday September 17, 2014 with a funeral service to start at 11AM at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Interment is in Ridgewood Cemetery followed by a luncheon in the community room at Hoy-Kilnoski. The family will direct memorials.
