Gwendolyn (Green) Leuch

Gwendolyn (Green) Leuch, age 88, of Council Bluffs, passed away April 16, 2023.

Gwen was born September 23, 1934 to parents, Victor and Mildred (Roden) Green. She graduated from Abraham Lincoln High School in 1953, and attended Parsons College in Fairfield, Iowa for one year. She married Donald Leuch on October 30, 1955.

Her husband's work moved them from Council Bluffs to Atlantic, Spencer and Sioux City, Iowa. She worked for the Sioux City school system calling substitute teachers, a librarian and a typist for the high school teachers. She was active in the Azure Chapter of Eastern Star and served as Worthy Matron. She and Donald retired in 1986. They sold their house in Sioux City, bought an RV and traveled for several years. In 1990, they hired a carpenter for three months to help build a house in Council Bluffs. They spent many summers completing it themselves while spending 5-6 months in a warmer climate for the winter.

In addition to her parents, Gwen was preceded in death by daughter, Annette Marie Leuch; brothers, Richard and Dudley Green; and sister, Carolyn Campbell.

Gwen is survived by her husband, Donald R. Leuch; children, Judith (Dan) Golden, Steven (Rhonda) Leuch, Kathryn (Jim) Raebel, and Anthony (Karen) Leuch; 7 grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild; nieces, nephews, and friends.

Funeral Service will be 2:00 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Friday, April 21, 2023. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service.

Graveside service and burial will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be directed to Hillcrest Hospice.
