John Lawrence Royer

John L. Royer, age 74 of Council Bluffs passed away September 22, 2011. He was born at Walnut, Iowa on April 23, 1937 to the late Thomas & Gertrude (Driver) Royer. John graduated from Neola Public and then served in the United States Army. John had worked for Allstate Insurance and owned and operated Kap-R Toppers. He was also a salesman for many years for both Iowa Rigger’s Loft and Omaha Slings. In addition to his parents, John is preceded in death by his brother, Jim Royer; his children’s mother, Joyce Royer. John is survived by his sons, Jay Royer & his wife, Sandy and Jason Royer; grandchildren, CheyAnne Royer and Cole Royer; sister and brother-in-law, Nadine & Jim Trede; brother and sister-in-law, Bert & Jane Royer; longtime companion, Judy Spencer and her children, Troy Spencer & Katie (Henningson), Mindy Spencer, Melissa Spencer and granddaughter, Carly Spencer; many nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of other family and friends. Visitation with the family will be Monday 6-8PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home & Crematory. Memorial Service is Tuesday at 11AM at the funeral home. A reception will follow the service in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. Memorials are suggested to the American Heart Association and American Cancer Society.
