John W. Vanwyhe

John W. VanWyhe of Council Bluffs passed away September 13, 2012. He was born in Oskaloosa, Iowa on February 4, 1935 to the late Henry & Fannie (DeHammer) VanWyhe. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Steven and James VanWyhe; grandson, Scott Crooks. John is survived by his wife, Shirley (Elrod) VanWyhe; daughters and sons-in-law, Sharon and Brian Lucas, Catherine and Larry Dahl; brother and sister-in-law, Jacob and Avis VanWyhe; sister, JoAnn Sopher; 8 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Memorial service is Monday 6PM at Broadway United Methodist Church followed by a reception at the church. A second memorial service will be Tuesday at the Pella United Methodist Church in Pella, Iowa. Final resting place will be in the Griffin Cemetery near Prairie City, Iowa. Memorials are suggested to Broadway United Methodist Church.
