Margery Ruth Bates

Margery Ruth Bates, age 90 of Underwood, IA. passed away Friday, April 10, 2015. She was born June 17, 1924 on the old Havens farm north of Lyman, Iowa to the late Ross and Nellie (Johnson) Havens. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 husbands, Jack Brown, Marvyn Acker and Cecil Bates; companion, Floyd Buck; sister, Pauline Edwards and brother, Don Havens. Margery is survived by her children: Tamara Brown of Omaha, NE., Allan Bates of Underwood, IA., Colleen Bradley of Independence, MO., Gordon McKinsey and wife Diana of Council Bluffs, IA., Paul Bates and wife Mary of Council Bluffs, IA.; brother, Lawrence Havens and wife Kathy of Wiota, IA.; 12 grandchildren, numerous great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and many other family and friends. Memorial service will be Friday at 1:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Following the memorial service, family and friends are invited to a reception in the Hoy-Kilnoski Community Room. Interment will be at 3:30 p.m. in the Fisher Cemetery in Underwood, Iowa. The family will direct memorials.
