Marilyn Weber

Marilyn B. Weber, age 69 of Council Bluffs passed away January 3, 2013 at her home. She was born June 18, 1943 in Ames, Iowa to the late Wallace & Lorene (Opstvedt) Mason. Marilyn was united in marriage on July 31, 1965 to Warren Weber. She possessed a Bachelor of Arts: Elementary Education from the University of Northern Iowa and a Master of Arts: Library Science from the University of Northern Iowa. Marilyn started her career as an elementary teacher and worked as a school media specialist. She retired in 2005 from the Loess Hills Area Education Agency as the director of media and technology. Marilyn was a member of First Congregational Church. She had also served on the board of the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation. Marilyn is survived by her husband, Warren Weber; son and daughter-in-law, Christopher and Shannon Weber; daughter and son-in-law, Sarah and Chris Girres; 4 grandchildren, Gage and Caitlin Weber and Baylie and Preslie Girres; brother and sister-in-law, Alan and Donna Mason; sister, Marlowe Peppar. Visitation is Sunday 3:00-5:00 p.m. at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Memorial service is Monday 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to the Council Bluffs Public Library or the Southwest Iowa Educational Foundation.
