Mary A Felton

Mary Andrea Felton, age 83, passed away peacefully at home, on January 31, 2021. She was born January 2, 1938 to John Wayne and Nina Andrea (Lawson) Mackland in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Mary lived in Crescent, Iowa the majority of her life until moving to Wyoming, Utah, Colorado, and New Mexico, before finally returning to Crescent in 1992. Mary enjoyed cooking, reading, and gardening. She was a Master Gardener and was famous for her baking, especially cinnamon rolls and pies. Mary was an avid traveler, having visited 8 countries, and taking numerous cruises with her daughters. Her pride and joy was her family.

Mary was a life long member of Hazel Dell Methodist Church and was active in the Christian Women's Club and bible study. She was the founder and Queen Bee of the Red Hats Society. She was also involved with the Neola chapter of the Eastern Star.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Lynn Edward Felton and her oldest daughter Anne Carolyn Felton; sisters Carolyn Mackland and Edna May Peterson; brother Thomas A. Mackland.

Mary is survived by sons John (Debbie) Felton, David (Frandee) Felton, and Daniel (Alisa) Felton; daughters Julie (Don) DeSaire and Sara (Michael Plester) Felton; 8 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren and one on the way; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, February 6, 2021, at 10:00 a.m. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Interment will be at Cedar Lawn Cemetery. Family requests masks must be worn. In lieu of flowers, memorials are suggested to St. Croix Hospice or Hazel Dell Methodist Church.
