Percy E. Wilcox, Age 87 of Omaha, Nebraska formerly of Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on December 10, 2022 at the Florence Home Hospice Care in Omaha, Nebraska.

Percy was born on February 9, 1935 in Homer, Nebraska to Douglas E and Ethel E (Morgan) Wilcox. He grew up on a farm near Winnebago, Nebraska and graduated from Winnebago Public High School in 1953. He joined the US Navy in 1954 and served in Pearl Harbor. Percy was Honorably discharged in 1957 and then transferred to the Navy reserve at US NAVRECSTA, San Diego, California.

Besides graduating high school, Percy took Motel Management- Illinois and Missouri he went into the Law Enforcement Academy-Iowa and several Law Enforcement Seminars-Nebraska and Iowa and after leaving Law Enforcement in Nebraska and Iowa he then owned and managed a Steakhouse Nite Club in Paulina, Iowa. He sold that an owned and managed a tavern in Battle Creek, Iowa. Percy then transitioned back to Council Bluffs, Iowa where he managed the Motel 6, a car wash and was a apartment manager at Iowa Western Community College and finally retiring from the Peoples True Value Store also in Council Bluffs. Percy enjoyed bowling, dancing, fishing, traveling and roller skating in his younger years.

Percy is survived by his wife of 9 years Jackie (Caldwell) Wilcox; sons, Douglas Wilcox and adopted son, Eldon Wilcox; daughter, Ann Slate; step-sons, Van Conover (Tami), Terry Conover (Pam), Clay Conover (Debbie), Kirby Conover, Brian Conover and Bruce Schmid (Kim); step-daughter, Laura Rorebeck; sisters, Shirley Haskins and Carole Thomas; 17-grandchildren; 17-great-grandchildren, the newest great-granddaughter was born 3 days after Percy passed away and many nieces, nephews, family and friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Douglas E. and Ethel E. Wilcox, wife, LouEllen Conover; brother, John Wilcox; infants, Teresa L Wilcox and Kevin Wilcox; granddaughter, Amanda Conover; in-laws, Theodore Thomas, Jr. and Donald Haskins.

Memorial Service: 2:00 PM Saturday, January 14, 2023 at Liberty Church of Omaha, 11213 Bel Air Dr.

Inurnment will be at a later date in Omaha National Cemetery.

Memorials may be directed to the family.
