Richard Eugene Betts

Richard E. Betts, 90 years, of Council Bluffs, died July 7, 2017 at the Rose Vista Home in Woodbine, Iowa.

Born in Council Bluffs, he served with the United States Navy during World War II. He was a self employed carpet layer.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Everett and Grace (Cain) Betts; his sister, Dorothy College and a brother, Paul Betts.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Arlene; his two daughters, Barbara Ellis and Susan Robinson; 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.

Funeral service will be held Wednesday 11AM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be an hour prior to the funeral. The family will direct memorials.

Casual dress is encouraged for the service.
