Robert Orville Boehm, age 63, of rural Council Bluffs, Iowa passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2015 at his home on the Boehm Farm. Robert was born on January 31, 1952 in Council Bluffs to Orville and Violet (Larsen) Boehm. Robert was raised in the Keg Creek area near Mineola, Iowa. Robert attended Keg Creek District #7 Country School from Kindergarten through 8th Grade. He then attended Treynor High School and graduated with the class of 1970. Robert married Charlene Doyle on June 20, 1981 at St. Patricks Catholic Church in Imogene, Iowa. They were blessed with two daughters Linsey and Ashley. Robert farmed with his father until he passed away in 1980 and then Robert took over the family farm near Mineola, Iowa. In addition to farming, Robert was an avid trapper and known for his skills. In the early 1980s Robert started raising feeder lambs and fed over 1,500 lambs each year. In the early 1990s Robert began raising club lambs and since that time, it has become a family tradition. Robert had many good traits, but just being there for people was probably one of the most important ones to him no matter what it was fighting a fire as a member of the Mineola Volunteer Fire Department; donating time and funds for youth development, livestock assistant superintendent at Westfair. He was always the friend and neighbor that people could count on. Robert was preceded in death by his father Orville Boehm and his step father Marvin Knickman. Robert is survived by his wife of 34 years, Charlene Boehm; daughters Linsey and her husband, Ryan Hemmingsen, Ashley Boehm; grandchildren Rylee, Tenley and Ryker Hemmingsen; his mother, Violet Boehm Knickman; mother-in law, Kathleen Doyle; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mike and LuAnn, Tom and Jeanette, Rick and Deb; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Wednesday, August 19 at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 11:00a.m. on Thursday, August 20 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in the St. Pauls Evangelical Country Church cemetery. Memorials are suggested to the Robert Boehm Memorial Scholarship which has been established for graduating senior 4-H Livestock Showmen to continue their education.
