Roberta "Bobbe" M. Sealley

March 20, 1948 — August 8, 2021

Roberta "Bobbe" Marline Sealley, age 73, passed away peacefully at Northcrest Living Center in Council Bluffs, IA on August 8, 2021. She was born March 20, 1948, to the late Robert and Arline (McDonald) Christensen in Morris, IL.

She was raised in the Morris and surrounding areas where she attended the Danish Country School, Gardner, Dwight, and Milton Pope grade schools. She graduated from Morris Community High School in 1966. Shortly after graduation, Bobbe' married her grade school sweetheart, Robert “Bob” Ian Sealley, on July 3, 1966.

Three children were born to Ian and Bobbe': Tamara, Michael, and Joseph. As a homemaker, she was very active in her children's lives attending every sporting, club, and school function. She sewed cheerleading uniforms, play costumes, and was a chaperone to many events. She was active with her children's 4-H club, Girl and Boy Scout troops, and painted a mean shamrock on several driveways and streets in Seneca.

Bobbe' was very active in the United Methodist Church where she served as a Sunday School teacher, member of Ruth's Circle Women's Group, and Youth Group sponsor. She, along with her husband, always had a sleeping bag on hand for canoeing trips, lock-ins, and various trips with the youth. She was a member of the Delta Theta Tau Sorority as well.

Once her children were in school, she worked in the Seneca Bellettini Bakery, Reliable (Boise Cascade), Illinois Office Supply, and was a school crossing guard to keep an extra eye on her kids.

She was a talented seamstress and baker. She loved participating in craft shows, sewing for various causes, and baking goodies, especially around the holidays, for friends, family, and neighbors. If something needed whipped up at the last minute, she didn't need a pattern; she just created and got it done. She was a gardener who ensured her kiddos were "weeders" and loved canning.

Once she became a grandmother, she was in her element. She loved teaching them and building memories. Each grandchild was so important to her, and she recognized each of their talents. She so wishes her husband had experienced this with her.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Robert Sealley; son, Michael Sealley; sister, Lynne Terry; brothers-in-law, Arden Humbert, Steve Terry, and Al Terry.

Roberta is survived by children, Tamara "Tammy" Teten and Joseph Sealley; sisters, Sandy Humbert and Kate Terry; sister-in-law, Sue Sealley; grandchildren, Rachel Teten, Madison Sealley, Zachery Teten, Ashleigh Sealley, Jacob Sealley, Colton Sealley, and Corey (Missi) Surette; and a host of family and friends.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held in Seneca, IL at the Osborne-Nelson Funeral Home from 2 to 4 pm this Sunday, August 15.

Bobbe' will be laid to rest beside her husband and son in a private graveside service on Monday, August 16.

The family will direct memorials.
