Ronald Jay Bakke, 89, passed away February 13, 2022 surrounded by family in Council Bluffs, Iowa.

Ronald was born November 27, 1932 in Chicago, Illinois to Henry and Margaret Bakke. Ronald joined the United States Air Force in 1952 to 1956 at Wichita, Kansas. He was a mechanic during the Korean War, Ronald then went to college at Utah State University for a degree in photography, after he graduated he left to Idaho Falls, Idaho and started to work at the Idaho National Laboratory, where he met the love of his life, Drena Bakke (Davies). Ronald and Drena had 4 kids, Jodyann Bakke (Nipper), Krista Bakke (Christenson), Jay Bakke, and Olin Bakke.

They lived 40 years of their live in a small town called Rigby, Idaho. Everyone grew to know Ronald, he was a friend to everyone. Always cracking jokes with a smile on his face. Ronald was also a grandfather to 5 grandkids and a great grandfather to 3. His grandkids were his pride and joy, he loved being a grandpa.

He was preceded in death by his father, Henry Bakke; mother, Margaret Bakke; brother, Howard Bakke; brother, Ralph Bakke.
Ronald survived by his wife of 54 years, Drena Bakke; daughter, Jodyann (Christopher) Nipper; daughter, Krista (Chad) Christenson; son, Jay Bakke; son, Olin Bakke; grandchildren, Taya (Zaine) Bartram, Tosha Christenson, Kayley Bakke, Travin Jedrek “T.J.” Nipper, and Kalista Nipper; great grandchildren, Corbyn Bartram, Zoey Bartram, and Emmett Robertson. Sister, Marlene Logerquist.

Private family services were held.
