Ruth E. Pycha Trompke

Ruth Trompke, age 88, was born Jan 4, 1927 in Zanesville, Ohio to the late Warren and Vesta (Needs) Semon and passed away September 25, 2015 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. Ruth trained as an RN in the cadet corp and served at the hospital in Winnebago, Nebraska. There she met and married James Jimmy Pycha, Jr. (1947-1974) and together they raised five children. She was always very active in the community leading 4-H clubs, chaperoning school trips, and was an active member in the Winnebago Presbyterian Church, and the Do-A-Lot Extension Club. Following Jimmys death in a farm accident she moved to Omaha and worked at Vets Hospital and other nursing arenas. She married Estle Al Trompke (1976-2006) and they enjoyed their retirement years together, living near Treynor, Iowa. They were members of the Good Sams camping club and traveled extensively. They were members of Zion Church in Treynor, where Ruth was especially close to her Bible Study friends. She also volunteered at Mercy Hospital in Council Bluffs. After Als death Ruth joined the Risen Son community. Favorite activities were the outings, Rolls & Coffee, book club and of course her Red Hat friends. Ruth loved to be around people all of her life. Often if there wasnt a club already formed, she would form one. She especially loved to entertain at Christmas time and sewing was a favorite pastime for her. She made quilts for each of her 10 grandchildren. In addition to her parents, and husbands, she was preceded in death by an infant son, David Pycha. Ruth is survived by her children, Carol Charling (James), Stamford, CT, Katherine Brummels (Robert), Coleridge, NE, Judith Ramsey, Portland, OR, Robert Bob Pycha (Mary Lou), Scribner, NE, Joanne Topolski (Terry), Omaha, NE; brother, Paul Semon (Dorothy), Lansdale, PA; grandchildren, Brian Charling, Aaron Charling (Audrey), Douglas Brummels (Heather), Peter Brummels (Crystal), Thomas Brummels (Stefanie), Tobra Hitchcock (Jeffery), Ty Bullard, Randi Wagner (Casey), James Pycha (Tadessa), Elizabeth Horvatich (Jeremy); great grandchildren, Eric Charling, Harrison Brummels, Brielle Brummels, Clara Brummels, Abigail Brummels, Grant Brummels, Eileen Brummels, Karson Brummels, Maya Brummels, Zechariah Hitchcock, Zoren Hitchcock, Zayden Hitchcock, ZoriahJean Hitchcock, ZayliAnne Hitchcock, Kensley Wagner, Jace Wagner, Aria Pycha, Archer Pycha, Brendan Horvatich, Addison Horvatich, and Jaxson Horvatich; and many other family and friends. Visitation is 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Sunday at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 10:30 a.m. on Monday at Zion Congregational Church in Treynor. Interment and graveside service is 3:00 p.m. that afternoon in the Evergreen Cemetery in Walthill, Nebraska. Memorials are suggested to Zion Congregational Church.
