Scott S Hunt

Scott Stanley Hunt, 69, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, April 27, 2022. Scott was born in White Plains, New York, on May 6, 1952 to Robert and Blanche Hunt. He graduated from John R. Kennedy High School in Somers, New York, in 1970. Scott then attended and graduated from Tarkio College in Tarkio, Missouri. While at Tarkio College he became a member of Theta Chi OX Fraternity. After graduating, Scott worked at Christian Home (now Children’s Square), owned a painting business and was a Social Worker for the Department of Human Services.

On July 5, 1986, he married Mary Perkins. They lovingly raised 5 daughters, Shandra Hunt (Joel Wickersham) Boulder Creek, CA , Morgan Hunt-Hodges (Cliff) Santa Cruz, CA, Olivia Roppe-Arnold, (Donnell) San Angelos,TX, Hanna Roppe-Guerdet (Heath) Council Bluffs, IA, Mia Hansen (Cory) Council Bluffs, IA.

Along with his children, his pride and joy were his grandchildren, Lily Hodges, of Santa Cruz, CA, Felicia Roppe, of Albuquerque, NM, Jaden Arnold of Salina, KS, Evan Arnold, Carson Arnold, Kendall Arnold, of San Angelos, TX, Brody Guerdet, Paisley Hansen, Kinsley Hansen, Raelyn Hansen, Miley Hansen of Council Bluffs.

Scott is also survived by his brother, Robert Hunt (Kerrie) of Butler, TN and sister Jacquelyn Colletta of Skokie, Ill. Sister-in-laws, Vickie Hall (Bob) of Northwood, IA, Sheryl Jahnel of Cedar Rapids, IA. His very special friend and companion, his Service Dog, Mickey. Scott also enjoyed several nieces and nephews.

Scott had a love for sports his whole life and used his vast knowledge of it to create the company Crescent Collectibles. Scott was well known and respected throughout the sports collector communities across the United States. He was always buying and selling sports memorabilia and meeting new and memorable people in the sports world. Scott also had such a passion for sports and youth that he coached several leagues where he lived in Crescent IA.

Scott was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents.

Funeral Services will be Saturday, May 7th, at 3:00 p.m. with visitation during the hour prior to the service, all at Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home.

In addition to his funeral service and luncheon, please also join us in a “Celebration of Life” at 3rd Base (800 North 8th Street, Council Bluffs) on June 11th at 2:00 pm.
