Sheila J. Hartzell

Sheila J. Hartzell, age 67, of Council Bluffs passed away August 25, 2017.

She was born in Waterloo, Iowa on October 26, 1949 to the late Francis and Marilyn (Leonard) Platt. Sheila graduated from St. Joseph Catholic High School in Ashton, Iowa with the class of 1967. She attended the Institute of Medical Technology and graduated as a Laboratory Technician. Sheila worked most of her career in area hospitals including Jennie Edmundson.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by 3 infant brothers.

Sheila is survived by her children, Jill Hartzell, James Hartzell (Tammy), Jeff Hartzell (Lupita); siblings, Shirley Vanden Brink (Larry), Mark Platt (Nina), Charlotte Rathert (Kenny); aunts, Iris Shaffer and Mary Platt; grandchildren, Trevor, Emile, Manuel, Leslie, Marlon, Brandon, Logan and Kenneth; great grandchildren, Viviana and Delilah; a host of other family and friends.

Visitation is 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. on Friday September 1, 2017 at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is 3:00p.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Southwest Iowa.
