Amanda S. Brightwell

Amanda Suzanne Brightwell, age 39, passed away at her home on October 5, 2026.

She was born December 12, 1986 to Lenwood "Roger" and Nancy (Pomerleau) Brightwell in Spokane, WA.

She was preceded in death by her grandparents, Lenwood Brightwood, Henry "Lou" & Marjorie Pomerleau.

Amanda is survived by her parents, Roger & Nancy Brightwell; siblings, Nicholas Brightwell (Sara), Emily Traficante (Cosmo); grandmother, Flo Brightwell; two nephews and three nieces; aunts, uncles, and cousins.

From a young age, Amanda had a way of throwing herself completely into the things she loved. When she found something she was interested in, she was all in, from reptiles and dinosaurs to creating intricate pipe-cleaner and tinfoil creatures to Pokémon, cross-stitching and playing her Nintendo Switch. She was incredibly creative and knowledgeable, and would talk your ear off about the things that brought her joy. 

Amanda was never afraid to make her opinions known or say exactly what was on her mind, and those who knew her would have expected nothing less. She was the first to call or text when there was a National Day of absolutely anything, and she happily took on the role of keeping everyone informed of the latest news, weather, and family happenings. If you were on her call list, you know! Her calls and messages were how Amanda showed the people she loved that she was thinking of them.

There are so many things that made Amanda, Amanda, but above all else, she was loving and unapologetically herself, and that is what made her so special. She brought her own unique light into the lives of everyone around her, and she will be deeply missed and forever loved.

Memorial Service will be held at 1:30 PM at Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Saturday, October 10, 2026. Inurnment will be in the Hazel Dell Cemetery. The family will direct memorials.
