Barbara Joan Carberry

Barbara Joan (Oslanzi) Carberry, age 86, of Council Bluffs, passed away peacefully at home on March 28th. She was born July 26, 1939, in Ottawa, Illinois, to Martin and Virginia Oslanzi.

Barb built a long career at Jennie Edmundson Hospital, where she worked for 32 years and advanced to the position of administrator/lead accountant before retiring in 2004.

She will be remembered for her deep devotion to her family, her strength and quick wit, and the life she built alongside her beloved husband. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

She was preceded in death by parents Martin and Virginia Oslanzi and siblings Kay Hickman, Mike Oslanzi and Bessie Oslanzi (infant).

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Harley; sons, Michael (Beverly Perdue), Steve (Gina Behrens-Hunter), and Terry (Sonja); her brother, Martin (Mary); grandchildren, Elizabeth ("Lizzie") Anderson (Jeff), Stephanie Dew (Jake), Harley, Sam and Lindsey; and great-grandchildren, Liliann, Jonah, Olivia, Otto and Arlo.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Wednesday, April 1, 2026. Funeral Service will be held at 1:00 PM at the Hoy Kilnoski Funeral Home on Thursday, April 2, 2026. The family will direct memorials.
